Yugo Cartuja Residence
Thanks to our successful track record in executing student residences, Mobenia was chosen to develop one of the latest projects by the promoter Straco Real Estate Iberia (formerly Life ES) and the operator Yugo—an international company specializing in student accommodation, with over 70 residences across more than 9 countries worldwide.
Yugo Cartuja, recently inaugurated, was built on the site of the former NATO pavilion from Expo ’92, located in La Cartuja Island—a district near the city center that has undergone a remarkable transformation in recent years. The building, adjacent to the School of Engineering at the University of Seville (ETSI), features a rationalist aesthetic with clean lines, where the contrast between exposed concrete and the blue-toned slats of its large windows stands out.
The global furnishing project includes 232 brand-new rooms, each equipped with a private kitchen and bathroom. While sharing a cohesive aesthetic, users can choose from various layouts—featuring a balcony, terrace, or window—and every option comes fully furnished and fitted with appliances.
The common areas are another standout feature of this impressive project, showcasing the boundless creativity of the design team at BM2 DROMMAR Arquitectos, who truly stepped into the shoes of the students when crafting spaces meant to be lived in and enjoyed collectively. From secluded meeting tables framed by large curtains, to the use of vibrant colors in the library and cinema room, and the warm finishes of the cozy café—every corner has been thoughtfully designed to elevate the university experience.
The Yugo Cartuja project has been a remarkable opportunity to reinforce, validate, and showcase our extensive production capacity, results-driven approach, and unwavering commitment when tackling large-scale projects that demand an extra dose of adaptability and proactivity at every stage.
