Mario Ruiz

Born in 1965 in Alicante, Spanish designer Mario Ruiz graduated in industrial design from the prestigious Elisava School of Design in Barcelona. He began his independent professional career in 1995 by opening his own studio in Barcelona.

Thanks to his multidisciplinary expertise across a wide range of fields, Mario Ruiz has earned the trust of over 120 leading companies worldwide—including in Australia, the United States, Sweden, France, Italy, Canada, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Spain.

His work has been showcased in exhibitions throughout Europe and Japan, and he has been honored with more than 40 major design awards.

In 2016, he received the prestigious National Design Award presented by King Felipe VI of Spain and the Minister of Economy. He has also been honored with the Silver Delta Awards granted by ADI-FAD (Barcelona’s Association of Industrial Design).

He has received numerous accolades from Red Dot, IF Design, Design Plus, and Wallpaper Awards. From 1992 to 2002, Mario Ruiz served as a professor of Industrial Projects at the Eina and Elisava design schools in Barcelona. He has delivered lectures in cities such as Tokyo, Singapore, New York, Dubai, London, and Chicago, and was a board member of ADI-FAD from 1999 to 2001.
